Consumer Reviews and Your Brand: How They Work Together

Every brand has a reputation. While some brands are known for their great customer service, others might be known for their commitment to the communities they serve. Did you know that almost 90 percent of consumers say that an online seller’s rating influences whether or not they make a purchase from that site?

Here are a few tips for boosting brand awareness through consumer reviews for your 7cart site.

Understand the Importance of Social Media

Social media is one way that your customers can do research about your business. Approximately 92 percent of users will purchase from a local business if it has at least a four-star rating. To keep your ratings high, consider how you interact with your social followers. Are you addressing issues that come into your messages or Twitter mentions? If not, you should be proactive about communicating with your customers and their issues, comments, and suggestions.

How Can I Encourage More People to Leave Seller Reviews About My eCommerce Site?

Using tools like TrustPilot and ResellerRatings are great ways to get your site more credibility. TrustPilot allows customers to give reviews on a business based on their shopping experiences. For businesses, TrustPilot allows you to look at a range of analytics regarding reviews left about your company. When customers order a product from your site, you can have TrustPilot send them an e-mail asking for a review of your business.  TrustPilot can also show reviews on Facebook, Google,
Bing, and Yahoo!

ResellerRatings is also another site that is great for encouraging customers to leave reviews about their shopping experience. ResellerRatings can feed retailer ratings onto Google Shopping listings and Adwords Ads. Their “Merchant Member” program allows you to monitor feedback and answer issues. ResellerRatings also offers exit survey mailers to customers to review your service.

The 7cart eCommerce system, provided by Logicblock, can integrate with both of these programs. Once you choose a provider and set up an account, all you will need to do is insert simple lines of code, which our help desk can assist you with.

Google Trusted Stores

Google Trusted Stores

Being an accredited Google Trusted Store is another way to build trust with customers. Shoppers will be able to rate their experience with your store and confirm that you offer an excellent shopping experience. If your site is a Google Trusted Store, you will then qualify to display ratings through Google Shopping and Google AdWords. You will also get a badge to display on your site (shown above).

Some of the most common benefits of being a Google Trusted Store include:

  • Increased conversions
  • Strengthen business credibility
  • Mediation in B2C relations
  • Purchase protection for customers up to $1,000.

Integration with Google Trusted Stores is a bit more complicated to set up than services like TrustPilot and ResellerRatings. It requires multiple pieces of order data, to pass back and forth between Google and your eCommerce platform.

However, our 7cart platform has been successfully running Google Trusted Stores Integration for some time.
If you are a 7cart customer, within the Admin, go to Config -> Plugins -> Google Trusted Store Setup to get started. Please note, you will need to have your Google Trusted Store Setup information before you integrate it with 7cart.  More information on Google Trusted Store feed and setup can be found here.

Don’t Forget Testimonial Pages

Continue adding testimonials to any local areas served or about us pages. A recent study shows that reviews on a site can boost conversions by over 20 percent. A good testimonial should talk about the issue that a customer had, and how your business was able to resolve it. An even better way to tell a customer’s story is by incorporating video into your testimonials.

Mobile and tablet shoppers said they are three times as likely to view a video than desktop users. Video testimonials will allow your customers to showcase your business products, while giving a face and a voice to their shopping experience.
